BECOME SOCIAL MEDIA SAVVY IN A DAY!
A one-day workshop to pull you out of the dark ages and into the white light.
Perfect for beginners, entrepreneurs, creatives, and wellness professionals who
want to grow their presence online without feeling overwhelmed by technology.
Social media can feel overwhelming, confusing, and constantly changing—especially if
you didn’t grow up using it. Many people feel like they should already understand how
it works, but the truth is most beginners are quietly struggling with the same
questions:
Does marketing really cost thousands?
How do I keep my personal life private?
What do hashtags actually do?
And how do people seem to know exactly what to say online?
This welcoming, beginner-friendly workshop is designed to remove the intimidation
and help you understand social media in a clear and supportive environment. No prior
experience is required, and there is absolutely no judgment here—only practical
guidance and encouragement.
In this four-hour workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of how social media
platforms work and why visibility requires more than simply posting once. You’ll
discover how engagement, conversation, and consistency help your posts reach the
right audience.
Participants will also learn how to separate personal and professional profiles to
maintain privacy, research effective hashtags, avoid restricted hashtags, and
confidently interact online in ways that attract curiosity and connection.
The workshop will also introduce modern tools such as ChatGPT that can help
generate ideas for posts, captions, and responses—making content creation easier and
less stressful.
Participants will walk away with:
• A clear understanding of the social media algorithm and why posting once rarely gets
results
• A simple strategy for increasing visibility and engagement without spending hours
online
• A structured way to separate personal and business profiles while maintaining
privacy
• A list of effective hashtags they can immediately begin using in their own posts
• Practical prompts and tools for using ChatGPT to help generate captions, responses,
and content ideas
• A beginner-friendly marketing approach using micro-budget advertising, showing
how small investments can gradually build visibility and attract followers that convert
into clients.
• A stronger sense of confidence navigating social media platforms, knowing what
works, what doesn’t, and how to avoid common beginner mistakes
By the end of the class, students will have a clear foundation, practical strategies they
can begin using immediately, and the confidence to grow their presence online
without feeling overwhelmed by technology.
This workshop is perfect for:
• Beginners who feel overwhelmed by social media
• Entrepreneurs or service providers wanting to promote their work
• Creatives, coaches, and wellness practitioners building an online presence
• Anyone curious about how social media platforms actually work
No prior social media knowledge is required—just curiosity and a willingness to learn.
About the Instructor
Kristen Tinsley holds a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing and Media
Communication and works at the intersection of storytelling, media production,
entrepreneurship, and modern marketing. Her background in visual storytelling and
media studies shaped her understanding that strong content, authentic voice, and
clear messaging are the true foundations of successful social media.
As a creative strategist who blends storytelling, media production, and grassroots
marketing, Kristen has developed innovative ways to promote live events and creative
projects using the tools already built into social media platforms. Her work includes
creating short-form promotional films to generate interest in live shows and
developing collaborative marketing strategies where local businesses can purchase
blocks of seats for events, resell them to their audiences, and simultaneously promote
their own brand.
Through professional training—including Google certification in social media marketing
and branding—combined with hands-on experience producing and promoting events,
Kristen has developed a practical approach to social media marketing that focuses on
authenticity, engagement, and strategic visibility rather than expensive marketing
systems.
Her philosophy is that every individual using social media is already their own
marketing department—they simply need to understand how the tools work and how
to use them effectively.
Kristen’s teaching style focuses on breaking down complex ideas into simple,
approachable concepts so students can confidently understand how social media
platforms function and use them as powerful tools for connection, marketing, and
growth.
